Bear Ecology — Learn the plant foods wild bears are eating. All ages
Bear Enrichment — Our Bear Curator will use various techniques to teach Lucky different voice and hand commands. The Bear Curator will use a microphone to explain what she is doing and what she expects Lucky to achieve. All ages
Bears in Our
Backyard & Camping in Bear Country — A discussion about living and camping
in bear country followed by questions from the audience. All ages
Bears of the
World — Learn the location and status of the 8 bear species in the world. All ages
Bear Tales — Bear
stories are read to children of all ages with audience participation. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Bears Under
the Microscope — Look under the microscope at hair from different bear species
as well as hair of a few other species including deer, rabbit and wolf. Children
Foot Loose — Identify wild animal tracks and make a mold of a yearling black bear
track (outside activity if weather permits) or a stencil of a bear paw
print (inside activity). Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Jr. Biologist — Learn bear characteristics and bear ancestry with simulated den check using
telemetry to locate our fake denned bear, Marbles. A certificate is
awarded at the end. Groups only (4th to 5th grade
level)
Jr. Den Check — Participate in a simulated den check done in the Cub Room with the Bear Center's plush bear Marbles. Children

Bear — Learn more about the Bear Center bears (Ted, Honey, and Lucky). Have your questions answered. All ages
Lions, Tigers
and Bears — Learn how the black bear survived the Ice Age predators.
Video and discussion. All ages
Naturalist Program — Learn about the plants an animals bears encounter in the woods. Taught by an experienced naturalist.
Walk
Like a Bear/Talk Like a Bear/Act Like a Bear —
Interactive program to learn bear behavior.
Walk on the
Wild Side — Tour behind the scenes of the Bear Center with a guide to learn
how and what the bears are fed. Includes a walk along the outside of the
bear enclosure and a look at each bear den.
