The Bear Necessities Gift Shop is operated by the North American Bear Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating the public about Bears.
Colors and Descriptions
We have done our best to display as accurately as possible the items being sold. However, colors you see will depend on your monitor and your monitor's display of any color to be accurate.
Return/Cancel Policy
If you need to cancel an order, please e-mail us at customerservice@bear.org. We will do our best to accommodate you. If your package has shipped, you must follow the return policy.
We take pride in our products and hope you are satisfied with your purchase. We stand behind all of the products offered through our web site. However, if for any reason, you are not satisfied with your purchase, please contact customerservice@bear.org to obtain a return form, authorization number and instructions. Returns must be unused, unwashed and in perfect condition. This means that CD's and DVD's will only be accepted if the package has not been opened. We will be happy to credit your original method of payment, excluding shipping and handling charges.
We do not handle exchanges because of the potential for error. However, you may simply return an item and reorder the desired items through our website.
Merchandise returned more than 14 days after delivery, in unsatisfactory condition will not be accepted. This means that CD's and DVD's will not be accepted if they are opened.
Please note that all shipping and insurance charges associated with returned orders are not refundable.
If the reason for the return is due to an error on our part, we will cover the replacement or refund without charge. If the item was damaged during shipping, we will immediately send out a replacement and file a claim with our shipper. We do require your full cooperation.
Member Discount
Members of the North American Bear Center receive a 10% member discount on merchandise purchased through the Bear Necessities Gift Shop web site. Orders are double checked and necessary price corrections are made in the final billing process.
Our packages may be shipped using the US Postal Service, Federal Express or UPS. Most in-stock items will be shipped within three (3) business days. Items maybe shipped separately, but you will not be charged for additional shipping. Our rates are as follows:

Express Delivery
In-stock items can be delivered within 3 to 4 business days to any street address in the continental U.S. for an additional $19.45. Express delivery is not available to P.O. Boxes. For Alaska and Hawaii addresses, express delivery is available to a street address for an additional $22.45.
Sales Tax
Sales tax will be added to shipments in the state of Minnesota. State Sales Tax for Minnesota is 6.875%.
