Four-year-old Jewel is sharing a dug den with her year-old cubs Fern and Herbie, born on January 22, 2012.
Jewel is the daughter of June and younger sister of Lily. She and her brother Jordan are the 2 cubs appearing in the final scenes for the BBC's 'Bearwalker of the NorthWoods' (left below) and also the 2 yearlings playing with Gordon Buchanan's camera equipment in the BBC's 'Bear Family and Me' (right below).
Jewel is descended from 26-year-old Shadow, the matriarch of the clan being studied by the Wildlife Research Institute of Ely, Minnesota, USA.
